HELLBOY by Declan Shalvey

Here's my Hellboy for this week. Cheers to Patrick for picking him; been meaning to do a decent Hellboy pick for a long time, so used this as an excuse to do it. Definitely the most work i've put in for a Twart. Given the subject matter of Hellboy i just HAD to show him in Ireland.

Fun fact, back in Ireland, my home is an hour between a castle (that i used to work in) and the above ruins of Quin Abbey. Got a little homesick doing this. Last time i drew that Abbey i think i was fourteen. Good times.

Hope ye like.

Dec.

Awesome. You really put the effort into a fully finished piece with this one. Even the Moon has a really supernatural glow to it.

I think overall this has been you guys' best week yet!

Bloody good, Dec! :D
What makes this illo even more special is he little story behind it and bit of your childhood: thanks so much for sharing it :)
CHances to hav you throw some color on it? I am imagining that strem to be fully blood red :)

Cheers,
Francesco

Fantastic, Dec. You really captured the "Hellboy" vibe that I tried to do while keeping your own style. Love all the textures.
