WOLFMAN by Urbanbarbarian

Darn that Reverend Dave Johnson to the fiery pits of Hades! I wanted to draw some Wolfman Jack - but luckily there's another Jack that has some wolf in him.

FEDOR by Urbanbarbarian

First of all... Thank you Dave for this week's theme! MMA and Comic Books? Is there anything else worth living for? [ the second illustration was done for Fighter's Only magazine featuring Dana White and Fedor ]

DOOM PATROL by Urbanbarbarian

I see Dave Johnson hasn't wasted any time showing off as usual... One day I'm gonna have to see how far back his talented little fingers bend.

JAR JAR BINKS by Urbanbarbarian

Why did I bother...? I guess because the glass jar joke was already done. I hate Jar Jar. Is that wrong?

ALFRED HITCHCOCK by Urbanbarbarian

I remember staying up late with my parents and watching Alfred Hitchcock's "The Birds" on television and being absolutely terrified. Birds are such lovely and gentle creatures, right? Wow, I had it all wrong...! [ click on the image to enlarge, if such a thing pleases you ]

UPDATE: Okay, I couldn't resist whipping up another one. Hope you dig it!

FIREBREATHER by Urbanbarbarian

If you like Andy Kuhn & Phil Hester AND you're a fan of Firebreather, I hope you like this rendition of said character. Happy Holidays Twartists!

DIZZY by Urbanbarbarian

100 Bullets ranks right at the top in my Top10 favorite comic books of all time list. Dizzy... How would you guys rank her?

Retro Luke Cage & Iron Fist by Urban Barbarian

I already posted this on DA but this would be my dream book right now! This is some Teaser Art for a Retro Luke Cage, Iron Fist and Daughters of the Dragon limited series for Marvel Comics. [ with Sabretooth and Dazzler, co-starring! ] We're talking late 1970's Cage and Fist here! Of course I would have to sneak Shang Chi into a panel or two - maybe Stallone style, a'la Staying Alive...

LONE WOLF and CUB by Urbanbarbarian

Kazuo Koike and Goseki Kojima became a part of my consciousnesses thanks to Dark Horse Comics and my affection for Frank Miller's work. Everyone is inspired by someone/something and Frank showed us some of his. I'm grateful.

SANDMAN by Urbanbarbarian

I wish there were more comic books out there like Sandman... I also wish I was eating a doughnut right now and watching Deadwood.

Nick Fury by Urban Barbarian

Man, it's been awhile! Sorry about that Twartists! I've been swamped with work but I've been loving these art posts! Simply amazing and inspiring! That said, I must issue an apology for this illustration. It hardly compares to those below. Still.... How can a man NOT draw Nick Fury? I blame all of you.

FRAZETTA TRIBUTE by Urban Barbarian

Frank Frazetta's passing marks the end of an art era that inspired the entire fantasy and comic book artistic community. A powerful man in both art and life. He will be missed but never forgotten. Frazetta Forever.

BELIT by Urbanbarbarian

Since Belit was my choice for the week, I'm glad I snuck in my illustration before Monday! Obviously I modeled my version after the great John Buscema's design. Hard to improve on a master like him! Thanks to all the Twartists for contributing! Even my motorcycle had a personalized Belit license plate, so I really got a kick out of seeing everyone's artistry! A better week I could not ask for!

TORPEDO by Urban Barbarian

My take on this cover by Jordi Bernet - not nearly as cool, mainly because Bernet's version rocks and I didn't show his gun... But in the right hands, a newspaper can be used as, um, well - reading material, I suppose. Click on the image to enlarge ( if you dare! ) Cheers!

Zorro - Urban Barbarian

Sorry I'm a bit late on this but everyone looks like they're having so much fun I had to chime in. Better late than never, right...? I hope so. Anyways, thanks again for inviting me into your talented fold!

This is my cartoony version of a character that I enjoyed on television and because of Alex Toth's iconic illustrated tales. I really enjoyed both for different reasons! One as a child and the other as an envious artist!
