Scooter Angst by Urbanbarbarian

2 years of Comic Twart?  I should feel happy about that but it's raining outside.  [ BTW, I don't own a scooter. ]

STREET FIGHTER [Ryu] by Urbanbarbarian

Had to go with Ryu on this one.  He is the Lyoto Machida of Streetfighter.  Yay Capcom!

[American]Vampires by Urbanbarbarian

One of my favorite comic books right now is Vertigo Comics' American Vampire. Love the work by Snyder and the art by Rafael Albuquerque and Sean Murphy! I'd like to see a 50's/60's story set in the Midwest or SoCal! Thanks for the great pick Andy!

WEAPON X by Dan Panosian

Wow... I think I made the right choice with my pick this week! I'm blown away by all the amazing illustrations everyone came up with! Damn! I only wish The Kindly Reverend Dave Johnson wasn't traipsing about Australia and could participate! Oh well, he's probably up to no good and loving it.

So last night I mistakenly brought my Moleskin Water Color sketch pad to Drink and Draw and luckily a friend had some paint. Logan could use some cords and retro tech dangling from him but other than that... Hey, it was a Drink and Draw sketch - what can you do? I'm lucky I made it home last night.

WOLFMAN by Urbanbarbarian

Darn that Reverend Dave Johnson to the fiery pits of Hades! I wanted to draw some Wolfman Jack - but luckily there's another Jack that has some wolf in him.

FEDOR by Urbanbarbarian

First of all... Thank you Dave for this week's theme! MMA and Comic Books? Is there anything else worth living for? [ the second illustration was done for Fighter's Only magazine featuring Dana White and Fedor ]

PANDA by Urbanbarbarian

Jason Pearson is one cool cat and his comic book Body Bags tears it up like no other! Thanks for the great pick, Mike!

MAD MAN, er, um MAD MEN by Urbanbarbarian

Since it actually is April Fool's Day, here's my Mad Man, er, um... Mad Men contribution as suggested by Dave Johnson! I am a fan of Mike Allred's Madman though and own the Bowen Designs bust to prove it!

DOOM PATROL by Urbanbarbarian

I see Dave Johnson hasn't wasted any time showing off as usual... One day I'm gonna have to see how far back his talented little fingers bend.

JAR JAR BINKS by Urbanbarbarian

Why did I bother...? I guess because the glass jar joke was already done. I hate Jar Jar. Is that wrong?

ALFRED HITCHCOCK by Urbanbarbarian

I remember staying up late with my parents and watching Alfred Hitchcock's "The Birds" on television and being absolutely terrified. Birds are such lovely and gentle creatures, right? Wow, I had it all wrong...! [ click on the image to enlarge, if such a thing pleases you ]

UPDATE: Okay, I couldn't resist whipping up another one. Hope you dig it!

If you like Andy Kuhn & Phil Hester AND you're a fan of Firebreather, I hope you like this rendition of said character. Happy Holidays Twartists!

Retro Luke Cage & Iron Fist by Urban Barbarian

I already posted this on DA but this would be my dream book right now! This is some Teaser Art for a Retro Luke Cage, Iron Fist and Daughters of the Dragon limited series for Marvel Comics. [ with Sabretooth and Dazzler, co-starring! ] We're talking late 1970's Cage and Fist here! Of course I would have to sneak Shang Chi into a panel or two - maybe Stallone style, a'la Staying Alive...

LONE WOLF and CUB by Urbanbarbarian

Kazuo Koike and Goseki Kojima became a part of my consciousnesses thanks to Dark Horse Comics and my affection for Frank Miller's work. Everyone is inspired by someone/something and Frank showed us some of his. I'm grateful.
