ARCHIE by Mr. Hawthorne

The entire gang is here, represented in one way or another. "No-Prize" to whoever can figure out the back story behind this. ;)

Oh, and you'll also notice a couple of nods to Andy's piece :)

best,
Mike

PS - Before anyone calls me on it, I KNOW that a state pen. would never allow someone that close the fence where they can reach inmates. Trust me, I know. Used my artistic license, so sue me.

EDIT: I posted the made up back story to this piece over on my blog. Thanks!

No cover next week, I promise! ;)

Hope you guys dig it :)

EDIT: I just posted the original rough sketch and a few notes about the making of this cover over at my Pulp Sunday Blog: check it out, if you like that kind of things :)

Cheers,
Francesco

Archie & the Gang by Ron Salas

I know I haven't posted my Dan Dare yet but I got this idea for this week's topic that I wanted to get a jump on it.

I need to work on my cartooning more.

ARCHIE by Andy Kuhn

This weeks Comic-Twart is Riverdale's favorite son Archie Andrews.
I'm familiar with all the iconic imagery,
but I never really read Archie comics.
I decided to do a jerky updated version of the character.
I'm not so sure you can tell who it's supposed to be,
but thanks for looking.

Dan Dare by Ron Salas

Here's my late Dare.
The other guys chose to highlight the spaceman aspect of the guy by putting him in his spacesuit but I felt his normal space force uniform with coat looked cooler and I found that military aspect of his character more interesting.

I would've finished this sooner but I wanted to get a jump on this week's topic.
Also, since I already know what next week's topic is going to be, I can get a jump on that as well!

DAN DARE by Mr. Hawthorne

I JUST made it in time! Well, with 44 minutes to spare.

After I did this it occurred to me how similar it is to Declan's. So, yeah, sorry man.

But obviously he's a genius ;)

Best,
mike

DAN DARE by Urbanbarbarian

I've been a little delinquent with my Twarting and Mr Hardtimes, Mike Hawthorne, let me know it! So here's my submission! Hopefully I can join in on our next one - which I hear is quite special
