HOT DAMN! These are incredible, Tom! So much fantastic movement, like it's taken right out of an animation. Also, LOVE the foilage/tree branch in the bkgd. Brilliant rendering.

Tom, that first one is AMAZING! Fantastix!
Holy shit those hands and feet are beautifully rendered.
Both are amazing, but the second one is really similar to what I have started over here. DRAT, foiled agian! I gotta get to posting faster! ;)
Seriously tho, these are awesome!

Oh... my... Teutates. I've adored Asterix my whole life, the movement and expression in Uderzo's drawings are gold and something I strive for desperately. So, obviously I love everything posted under this theme... But the re-imagining in a painterly/"modern comic" style compelled me to comment on yours in particular. Very inspiring!
LOOOOOVE!
Wow Tom, these are amazingly beautiful. I am a big Asterix fan and I can unhesitatingly say that you are as good as the original. I would do unwholesome things to have an entire Asterix short done by you.
That first sketch is pitch perfect, Tom, especially Dogmatix. The second one is all sorts of badass.
You totally nailed the classic "knock you off your sandlas" shot in the first one, and I am totally loving the GFrazetta vibe in the second piece: 2 winners, you show-off ;)
Cheers,
Francesco
Both images are great. The first because it's so spot on, and the second, because it so isn't. I'm thinking Thor would find the Asterix in your second sketch a bit more of challenge. Also, I see great potential in an Obelix vs. Volstagg throw down, loser buys the beer.
I saw your piece and I was like "Shit!" cause the piece I was working on was for sure going to look like I ripped you off. Especially since it's so much better than mine. Argh.
You rock, Tom.
superbe hommage ! ! ! !
