60's NICK FURY by Ron Salas

I'm going to be painting this but I wanted to post this version for this week's twart because I think there's something there that I might not be able to translate in a more finished version.

This is so hard-boiled, it made me ten percent more manly. Love it, Ron.

A good thing, too, 'cause that extra ten percent if probably your legal limit. Any more and you'd be too manly. :)

Thanks man.

I'd venture to say NOT to change a thing. It feels spot on as is. Even the scratch title is inspired!

Thanks man. I think I'll definitely have this as one version. I only want to do a painted version to see if I can actually pull off what I want to do. But I certainly will leave this version as-is 'cause I know there's something here.

Great work, Ron! Reminds me of Bob Abbett or Bob Peak's work. Great design, love the type too.

Thanks. I was trying for a Bernie Fuchs crossed with Saul Bass on this one.

THat's a great old paperback cover, it feels really authentic :)
And I love the scratchy logo :)
Looking forward to the painted version, even if I think this works great as is.

Cheers,
Francesco

Thanks guys! The painted version is delayed cause I haven't been as successful with it as I hoped I would be.

But it'll come!
