CAPTAIN MARVEL by Evan Shaner

Spoiler warning: there is no next page. I've got nothing that I haven't said on the internet a million times already, but Captain Marvel's a favorite of mine. Sorry for the nonsense "storyline" but it was an excuse to fit in as many characters as I could.

Excellent pick, Ron!

Exceptional work, Evan. Your art style is perfectly suited for the Marvel Family. Your love for the characters really comes across, as well. I'd definitely buy a Captain Marvel series if you drew it (and lettered it, too).

Thanks, Evan! I even noticed the nod to Don Newton and the RBCC!

Nothing about this that isn't just friggin' great! The period feel, the cast of whacky ideas and characters that make Captain Marvel so fun, it's all there. And you make Tawny look like a major league ass-kicker. Beautiful.

Fantastic. Just what I expected.
Great job, Evan.

Just sublime, Evan. Exactly right in every way.

And I plan to start saying "What a pickle!" in my everyday life. That's your fault!

Beautiful tribute to the Beck-Costanza-Shaffenberger comics of the Golden Age, right down to the pseudo-Ben Day screens!

Thanks everybody!

HB's Ghost- Is there a specific Newton thing you're referring to? Just curious. This was definitely a partial tribute to Newton but I didn't consciously reference anything.

This is perfect on so many levels! I'd love to read a strip like this once a week.

that's what I'm talking about: Evan Shaner on Cap, for DC Wednesday Comics V2.

Fantastic!
I wish there was another page...

Actually, an ongoing book would be nice.

I'm with Breitweiser, you should do one of these each week :D

C'mon DC, Shaner on a "god-willing" out of continuity Shazam series is a solid bet!
