FANTASTIC FOUR by Evan Shaner

I've mentioned before that I'd like to work on anything involving Ben Grimm but I'm a huge fan of Reed, Sue, and Johnny too, so if I could have my pick of any book I'd take Fantastic Four. I really dig when the Inhumans show up so I included them too. The book would involve the destruction of Attilan starting at the home of the royal family. Lockjaw and Karnak manage to escape to the Baxter Building, asking the FF for help in finding out who's targeted the Inhumans. At some point Ben will grab a beer with Gorgon.

You can see the thumbnail, pencils, and inks for this over at my blog.

very nice- has a classic Kirby/Lee dynamic to the cover but a very Wieringo (sp!) style playfulness to the characters. The layout of the cover is especially sweet! maybe you should do a whole series of imaginary covers- you've already got a good base template.

That just puts the 'ool' in 'cool'! I love the FF and the touch of Wieringo brings back memories of a great run.

Wicked job on the logo too - that really looks like you are about to read something epic.

A nice new twist on old school.

You've got all the elements that make the FF The World's Greatest Comic mag - cosmic action, larger-than-life supporting characters and the Fantastic Four out in front.

The illustration, the composition, it all works. I particularly like the King Cobra feel you've given to Reed.

Damn! That's some sweetness. Very retro, very 60s. Love the mix of colors, especially the orange blue. Also love the thumbnails and unfinished versions posted on your blog.
