DAN DARE by Andy Kuhn

I'm not really familiar with Dan Dare,
except through the Elton John song,
and the Grant Morrison /Rian Hughes mini series.
I love me some Rian Hughes art.
This is my version of his take on the character.
Thanks for looking.

DAN DARE by tom fowler

the original idea for this was that it would be upside down ('cuz you know...space), but when i showed it to monique she kept turning it over. so there you are...

(and, yes, i know screwed up the flags...)

EDIT: special thanks, btw, should really go out to chris weston whose dan dare action figure model sheets were relied on somewhat heavily by most of us this week. so thanks chris, for just you being you.

EDIT THE SECOND: in deference to "she who must be obeyed"...

DAN DARE by Declan Shalvey

Never drew Dan Dare before. Never had much interest to be honest as he seemed very smug and British when i was younger, and being Irish, i didn't warm to that. Probably why i never really got into Doctor Who either.

Anyhoo, that was then, this is now. He seems like a pretty cool sci-fi character to me now, though i think it shows i enjoyed drawing the Mekon fella more than Dare himself. Kinda wish i'd drawn Dare from the side a little more. It's a cool helmet he has, but i think i drew it at an awkward angle.

DAN DARE by Francesco Francavilla

Darn it! Yet another cool character to draw: these guys are killing me with their picks :P
Cut some time in between coloring Green Hornet Year One pages (did you pick up #1 yesterday? I colored the book over Campbell's art and Wagner's plot :)) to do some drawin' for the TWART and this is what came out of it. I guess I am still digging in the attic for those old magazine vibes ;)

Cheers,
Francesco

DAN DARE by Chris Samnee

I'm sorry to say that I'm not terribly familiar with Dan Dare... After poking around on the internet a bit to prepare for this week's sketch I'm really looking forward to checking out some of his adventures.

Pencils for this sketch can be seen over on my blog here.

Swell pick, Mr. McDaid.
