ATHENA VOLTAIRE by Ron Salas

Such a fun character to draw. I mean, think about Indy but as a totally hot babe. How can that not be fun to draw?? Plus, just think about the name. It's such a fantastic name. It's one of those names that seems to have always existed.

So, yeah, I like Athena Voltaire.

ATHENA VOLTAIRE by Andy Kuhn

Here's my version of Steve Bryant's
awesome character Athena Voltaire.
Thanks for looking!

And now a Twart near and dear to my heart...The guys were kind enough to indulge me in my pick of my lead character, Athena Voltaire, as this week's Twart. AV follows the adventures of a pulp heroine as she battles Nazis and occult forces against the backdrop of the mid-1930s.

Because I don't know how to intersperse text and images, they're all stacked, above. Here's the rundown:

Top: The cover inks to issue #4 of Flight of the Falcon (and the cover to the FoF trade). I posted the colors to this one over on the Athena Voltaire blog. This is probably my favorite drybrushing I've ever done. I wish I could pull it off more often.

Middle: The cover to the first issue of the upcoming AV miniseries, The Volcano Goddess.

Bottom: My new Twart sketch, which will serve double-duty as a reward ($150 incentive level) for one of the supporters of the recently completed Athena Voltaire Kickstarter campaign. Thanks again to all who contributed!

TARZAN by Steve Bryant

Big Edgar Rice Burroughs fan here, so I was thrilled that Mitch chose John Clayton, Lord Greystoke, for this week's Twart! I was even happier because I have time to contribute.

This one also functions as my (ketchup) Frazetta Tribute, as there's been no one that has captured the enormity of Burroughs' jungle scenes as Frank.

In the words of the Mangani tribe, and Kala's most famous son in particular, Kreegah bundolo!
