PLASTIC MAN by Evan Shaner

Finally catching up on my own pick a month later, here's Plastic Man. With ECCC and other work I was only able to devote about 15-20 minutes a day to this, which is why I'm just posting it now. I should have just come up with another idea but this is all I had.

I don't have much else to say other than I'm a huge fan of this character and his creator, Jack Cole.

missing frankenstein week literally caused me physical pain. this particular piece will be pulling double duty both twart and and my contribution to comics alliance and the CBLDF's charity auction.

SILVER SABLE by Evan Shaner

I hope Francesco will forgive me for also doing a pulpy type book cover but this character finally clicked for me once I saw his cover. I wasn't able to get this in last week so I'll consider this my piece for both Silver Sable week and Ketchup week.

TARZAN by Steve Bryant

Big Edgar Rice Burroughs fan here, so I was thrilled that Mitch chose John Clayton, Lord Greystoke, for this week's Twart! I was even happier because I have time to contribute.

This one also functions as my (ketchup) Frazetta Tribute, as there's been no one that has captured the enormity of Burroughs' jungle scenes as Frank.

In the words of the Mangani tribe, and Kala's most famous son in particular, Kreegah bundolo!

hey kids, welcome to ketchup week!

as many of you may have gleaned over the last few months, we twartists are often pestered by the need to make money at our other jobs (and eat and sleep and other unimportant stuff like that) and therefore are not always around to contribute*. for that reason we've decided to designate this week as a time to catch up with twarts we've missed or weren't happy with the first time around. enjoy! (or else...)

first, jonny quest:



i always loved jonny growing up simply because it was just about the most hardcore thing a kid could watch. children are shot at every week and people DIE! it would definitely get your young heart pumping on a saturday morning at 6:30 am.

for those wondering where bandit is i'll say only this: the only person who hated the dog more than me was doug wildey.

second, hawkman:


done right he's just full-on bad-ass. it probably goes without saying that i drew this right after my frazetta piece




*(except for francesco who seems to have discovered a way to slow down time through a combination of caffeine and satan worship...)
