LONE WOLF and CUB by Urbanbarbarian

Kazuo Koike and Goseki Kojima became a part of my consciousnesses thanks to Dark Horse Comics and my affection for Frank Miller's work. Everyone is inspired by someone/something and Frank showed us some of his. I'm grateful.

Lone Wolf & Cub, by Nathan Fairbairn

Okay, I admit that I have never read a Lone Wolf & Cub book, but I figure it's a pretty safe bet that there's a fair amount of this sort of thing going on.

And thank you, Dan, for another cool pick :)
(looking forward to meet you in Baltimore in a few days :))

Here is my contribution, fresh from the oven (still hot, watch out ;)), drawn while watching Top Chef (can you tell I like to cook and eat with all these culinary references? ;))
Done on a 5x17 inches board strip.

Definitely click on the image for a better fruition :)

Cheers,
Francesco

Great pick, Dan! I'm a big fan of the book. Thought I would do something a bit different with the inks this week and went a bit looser and brushier. Hope ya dig it!

LONE WOLF AND CUB by Evan Shaner

This whole cycle has been full of characters I've only been aware of peripherally but really interested in reading. Lone Wolf and Cub is no different. This was a blast to work on, great pick Dan!

You can see the inks without color over at my blog.

LONE WOLF AND CUB by Mitch Gerads

Best Father/Son Work Day Ever!

Another one of those hugely influential books for me. Much like Nexus, I remember the Frank Miller reprint books lying around my brother's bedroom, so obviously "2nd Grader + Samurais + Blood= flipped through every single one of them."

SANDMAN by Urbanbarbarian

I wish there were more comic books out there like Sandman... I also wish I was eating a doughnut right now and watching Deadwood.

SANDMAN by Andy Kuhn

I'm a big fan of Jack Kirby's short lived 1974 Sandman series.
My idea for this drawing was - what if Kirby was the artist on
Neil Gaiman's Sandman series. I'm not sure I pulled it off,
but I sure had fun trying! Thanks for looking.
